How I Started Playing the Sweet Game with the Sour Name!
We were visiting friends in Arizona and were playing a lot of tennis but then they introduced us to Pickleball. We had so much fun that we almost stopped playing tennis altogether and played pickleball instead for the remainder of our holiday. Pickleball is a paddle game played with wooden, graphite or composite paddles and a hard plastic perforated ball (a baseball sized whiffle-ball) over a tennis height net on a badminton size court (44' by 20'). The game can be played indoors or outdoors and many PE teachers use the game to help people develop racquet skills. On top of all that it is tremendous exercise and can be played in singles or doubles and by people of all ages. Unlike tennis, people of varied ability can enjoy playing a competitive game of pickleball together.
